Can You Remodel Silver?

Yes Absolutely! You Can Remodel Silver.

Should you? Ok that depends.

Silver that is sentimental can absolutely be remodelled and when there is a large amount it may work out to be quite a good option price wise (especially with rising costs of precious metals). However depending on the design it can require disproportionate amounts of work to get the metal workable whoch of course makes it more expensive to do.

Sometimes an alloy is tricky, sometimes it doesn't work and cracks. Contamination from casting, solder and other oddities can make silver hard to roll into new stock to make from. You can get around that sometimes with casting and it can also be sent off to be refined. Again that's totally ok, but new metal may be more cost effective. Its a case of weighing up the cost - benefit.

So, the short answer is yes - but the long answer is that it really depends on the reasons that you want to do it. For sentimental metals there is so much value to the memories and feelings that the new piece will hold and they are priceless.

Lets see an example..

This is a beautiful example of remodelling sentimental Silver, a christening band turned into a new bracelet that the client's mother will wear daily.

A silver remodelling project, christening bracelet turned into a cross bracelet and all the stages of fabrication.
An element of magic only bespoke can bring
We also added a really special piece of the puzzle from my client, a fine silver heart she had made herself. This is such a special ingredient in making this silver remodel totally unique and absolutely something you won't find on the highstreet!

A sentimental chain silver bracelet with a cross design and heart charm.

The Finished Piece
It ended up being such a beautiful piece of jewellery which is well loved and living a much bigger life outside of the jewellery box.
In this case something really sentimental that would otherwise continue life in a drawer has been turned into a really thoughtful gift that holds more emotional value than a shop bought bracelet.
